When it comes to the aging teenagers of Fiwagoh mission home, It’s always a very great task how these young people will get ready for after-mission-home-life. The hardest task for many orphanages in Kenya is how to exit these young people and equip them for life after the orphanage. There are still many who go back to the street, to beg and do other odd jobs for a living. But God worked out a big miracle for the Fiwagoh mission to get such a nice home for them that we called the JEREMIAH HOME basing the name of the home from the book of
Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the thoughts I have toward you saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end”
This is their new transitional home. Already 14 of our young boys from the orphanage home are currently living here, and they are not alone, we still visit them regularly, to mentor, counsel, encourage, caution and nurture them to become more disciplined for life.
We want to extend our much thanks and appreciation to the faithful donors who stepped in, as an emergency and contributed towards the purchase of this new home. This is the home they will stay in for a short period, as they get ready to step out to stand on their own feet. Some of them are already permanently working in various places. We are happy for those also who have taken some ministerial work to work for the Lord in the Vineyard. There are others living in Jeremiah home who are taking their trade school, apprentices, also learning on how to start their own small business. It is so amazing to see how God loves the young people from Fiwagoh, This is indeed very encouraging to both Florence & myself and all the faithful sponsors who have been sponsoring them on monthly basis for many years.
The various trades which they have taken are such as: Carpentry, Building, Fine art and painting, Dress making, Shoe making (Leather work), Electrical, plumbing and Masonry, farming, and ministerial work.
Please, we kindly request you to pray for these young people to stay in the Lord’s word that they may not be swayed into the world. We have nurtured them in the word of God and have brought them up in God’s way of discipline; they need more of our prayers. Thank you for joining us in praying and supporting for their basic needs in the new home.
